The Blue Ribbon Mission
The Blue Ribbon is The Music Center’s premier women’s support organization and one of its largest donors. The Blue Ribbon has enriched the lives of the greater Los Angeles community through its commitment to arts education, volunteerism and financial support for The Music Center and its resident companies.
A Message from The Blue Ribbon President
It is my pleasure to introduce you to The Blue Ribbon, the premier women’s support organization for The Music Center and one of its largest donors. For 55 years, the dedicated women of The Blue Ribbon have set a philanthropic standard with their ongoing commitment to arts education, volunteerism and financial support for The Music Center and its resident companies.
Founded by Dorothy Chandler in 1968, The Blue Ribbon has a long history of sponsoring social, educational and cultural activities throughout Los Angeles. One primary focus is our treasured Blue Ribbon Children’s Festival. In February 2024, we will celebrate the 54th anniversary of this special performing arts program. Fifth grade classes from schools throughout Los Angeles County are invited to participate. We look forward to welcoming the students to The Music Center each year to experience the joy of live performance.
Blue Ribbon members believe the performing arts are vital to our community, especially during these challenging times. We provide financial support to The Music Center and its resident companies so they can continue to provide world-class programming in dance, music and theatre for Angelenos of all ages.
I am honored to serve as The Blue Ribbon’s president and am proud to carry on the legacy of this outstanding organization.
Warmest regards,
Mary Ann Hunt-Jacobsen
