Abernethy's
abernethysla.comAs a destination restaurant, Abernethy’s offers diners the opportunity to taste cultures and explore food as emerging chefs are offered their own platform for culinary creativity. Each new chef transforms Abernethy’s with inventive and personalized dishes inspired by the diverse people and cultures that fill the heart of Los Angeles. Chefs are selected by Abernethy's Culinary Advisory Committee comprised of some of L.A.'s legendary chefs and tastemakers, including Chefs Govind Armstrong, Susan Feniger, Ray Garcia, among others.
Top Chef finalist Shirley Chung (Ms Chi Café) was Abernethy’s inaugural chef, serving her version of progressive Chinese American cuisine. She was followed by Jason Fullilove (chef/owner, Barbara Jean) who served modern Soul food and Chef Geter Atienza (Chef de Cuisine, The H. Wood Group; Broken Spanish), who served modern Filipino cuisine. In early 2023, Chef Lenora Marouni, chef/owner of Barsha, wrapped up her elevated comfort Tunisian fare and Chef Brad Willits of Market Venice featured his Modern Italian menu. Just recently, Chef John Cleveland of Post and Beam featured his California Comfort Menu.

Rodolfo is a struggling poet burning his manuscripts to keep out the winter chill. Mimi is a fellow tenant with big dreams and a deadly illness. A chance meeting has them falling in love, but when you’re at the bottom of Parisian society, every day could be your last.
Puccini’s blockbuster opera returns to the stage starring Janai Brugger as the sweet but suffering Mimi and Oreste Cosimo as the lovestruck Rodolfo, with Gihoon Kim and Erica Petrocelli as the on-again-off-again lovers Marcello and Musetta.
Resident Conductor Lina González-Granados leads Puccini’s transcendent score, awash in lavish Romanticism and gorgeous melodies. Director Brenna Corner helms a timeless production from Herbert Ross that the LA Times calls a “warm, nostalgic evocation of Paris in Puccini’s time.”

For 10 performances only, from December 12–21, Ben and a star-studded set of special guests join forces to perform a dazzling new concert of some of his greatest hits, as well as a set of timeless Broadway favorites. We can’t reveal who’ll share the stage, but his 2024 Broadway residency was a veritable who’s who of Broadway and Pop music royalty, including Cynthia Erivo, Nicole Scherzinger, Jennifer Hudson, Kacey Musgraves, Sam Smith, Micaela Diamond, and Shoshana Bean, among many others. And this time—Ben's upping the ante, with even more incredible surprise guests joining the fun each night.
Originally directed by Tony Award winner Michael Arden (Parade), Ben Platt: Live at the Ahmanson marks a homecoming for Ben, as he returns to the very stage and city that launched his theatrical career (Dead End; Caroline, or Change).

A violinist of “velvety tone and...a high degree of elegance” (Los Angeles Times), Renaud Capuçon brings these ideal qualities to Mozart’s sublime Third Violin Concerto. Albert Einstein claimed that its Adagio “seems to have fallen straight from heaven,” before culminating in a lively Alsatian dance.
Finland's greatest symphonist, Jean Sibelius modeled his first contribution to the genre on Tchaikovsky’s “Pathétique” Symphony, layering it with his trademark soaring themes and thrilling drama. The work quickly became a point of national pride, performed by the Helsinki Orchestra across Europe on its first tour.
