Lease Event TAIKOPROJECT 25th Anniversary Concert

TAIKOPROJECT was founded in Los Angeles’ historic Little Tokyo district in 2000 by a group of young, next-generation artists with the simple mission: to create a new, exciting, and original expression of American taiko.

Over the last 25 years, they have amassed an impressive resumé, with appearances on the Academy Awards, the Grammys, numerous television shows, films, music videos, video games and having collaborated with artists like Peter Gabriel, Stevie Wonder, Hans Zimmer, Alicia Keys and John Legend.

TAIKOPROJECT will present its electrifying blend of taiko with koto (Japanese zither), vocals, marimba and shinobue (bamboo flute).  Special guests GRAMMY Award winner Quetzal and shamisen virtuoso Sumie Kaneko join the ensemble for an unforgettable musical celebration. The concert also serves as a dual album release party for their fourth studio album 25 and our collaborative EP with Quetzal, entitled Concrete Saplings.
