The Music Center's Workplace Readiness Program
Free and open to high school juniors & seniors in Los Angeles County
Studio: Creative Futures is for young adults interested in offstage jobs in the entertainment and performing arts industries. The Music Center offers several opportunities to learn more about these industries including a free four-day workshop to strengthen the soft skills necessary to succeed in the workplace. With training and coaching from professional artists and arts administrators, participants can improve their resilience, adaptability, self-confidence, curiosity and communication skills.

Theater Tours
Explore The Music Center
Be part of a backstage tour and get a behind-the-scenes perspective of The Music Center’s four theatres: Ahmanson Theatre, Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, Mark Taper Forum and Walt Disney Concert Hall.

Workshops
Get Training
Students are invited to join this 4-day program to learn about and strengthen the soft skills employers are looking for in their new hires. The workshops include building soft skills through fun and interactive activities, backstage tours and meeting guest speakers from a variety of creative industries who will share important information about their career paths. On the final day, participants work on a creative project to put into practice all they have learned. Participants receive $250 after completing the 4-day program. Travel assistance to and from The Music Center is available.

School Visits
Learn From Industry Professionals
Teachers, we can visit your school with a version of the workshops timed to fit into a class period. Students will be introduced to The Music Center, do an exercise to learn about soft skills, and have the opportunity to hear from an industry professional about their work and how soft skills play a crucial role in workplace success.
