Alfredo Rolando Ortiz Artsource Unit
Joropo Azul and Zayante
Alfredo Rolando Ortiz was born in Cuba, but found his passion for the harp in the mountains of Venezuela. His music, rooted in the folk and classical traditions of Latin America, has won international acclaim. Although he became a medical doctor, he has fulfilled his life as a musician and harpist. It is said that the harp began with the sounds of the hunting bow many thousands of years ago and that it is the ancestor of such instruments as the guitar and piano. Lessons feature rhythmic patterns and tone color and give instructions to build a simple tuned instrument. Enduring Values and The Human Family are the featured universal themes.
