About The Performers
The genre of Boleros first originated in Cuba and made its way to Mexico by the 1940s. This style of music is usually performed by a three-piece band. Tres Souls, today’s newest generation of Bolero artists, is comprised of members Roberto Carlos, Jesús Martínez and Rocio Mendoza, and represents a revival of “Trio Romántico” music. They relive the vintage Bolero sounds and songs of the 1940s -1960s that was popularized during the ‘Golden Era of Mexican Cinema’.
Tres Souls creates a festive and nostalgic celebration through its own unique interpretation. The group’s timeless sound is interspersed with bilingual renditions that bridges the border between the music’s past and present. Tres Souls perform around the greater Los Angeles area, including past performances at The Broad Stage’s original cultural educational musical Musical Explorers, AirBnB Open Spotlight, MOLAA, Metro Arts Presents at Union Station, Plaza De Cultura Y Artes, Rosenthal Theater, Casa 0101, KPFK, KXLU and recently at the Walt Disney Studios for the premier of Coco the movie. Tres Souls is dedicated to the preservation of Bolero music and has recently recorded an EP that includes original songs and classic Bolero tunes.
